pjc Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Home number. I ordered a red stamp but wish I had black - red shows awful through the white feathers. :-/ :-/ In three years I have only lost three birds and had only one reported (broken keel) and that was by a non-fancier...this bird was stamped but also had my phone number on ring. Before having pigeons I didn't know to look on the wing for a number and, even if I did, I doubt I could have opened a wing. :B Whichever colour you use Sue it will show up on your whites. The advantage you have got is that if one of your birds is found by a non fancier and they see funny coloured ink on its flights they are more likely to see what it is and report it. The stamp on a blue etc doesn't stand out so non fanciers don't know its there until you show or tell them.
pjc Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 yes u are right u need to be caught but there is a thing called right from wrong morals there called must seem u dont have any Also who is reassigning the rings?
alex wight Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 i see asha is getting what he aims for, a response. stop answering him as that what he wants. back to topic, i have a red one with name of town and telephone number. Due to having people like asha about, i was advised not to put my name on it.

Anyone want a red stamp with my phone number on...free? ;D ;D
chris h Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 If your bird goes into someone else's loft you have a chance of getting it back. If its found on the street by joe public then wheather its stamped or not wouldnt make any difference i dont think ?
Guest Owen Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Asha, I would like you to know that I will report all pigeons that land here. And I don't mind co-operating to get it back home. But, if you fail to make arrangements to get it from here I will start by reporting the Owner to the RPRA. If that does not work I will send a bill for my work and the pigeon's keep. If you fail to pay the bill I will definately take you to court and sue for the money. If you ask me to dispose of it, you will have to ask me in writting, and I will take it to the local Vet and charge you at what ever rate he charges. And if you live close enough I will bring the pigeon to you and I will not be there to chat. Up to you how you want to handle things, but I will not allow you to mess me about.
