fletch Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 how long has your m8 been on the sick He isnt on the sick he has been told that you can go on the sick while in leiu of notice and you get full pay
pjc Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 It depends on the circumstances, my wife has had to look into this before and it appears if you go sick after having been given your notice then you are entitled to full pay but doesn't think they can make you redundent while you are signed off sick. Best way to check is ring ACAS and give them the details. Phil
THE FIFER Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 He isnt on the sick he has been told that you can go on the sick while in leiu of notice and you get full pay do you mean go on the sick instead of working his notice,???
fletch Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 Yes mate he has been told by someone else this is possible
greenlands Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 If he's getting lieu of notice you can't work it,that's the whole idea of lieu. That means he'll get 13 weeks wages when he finishes work and can't claim any benefits for 13 week from the date he finished work because basically he's being paid.He can however start another job during the 13 week and accept payment, all taxable.Sounds about right.I was made redundant in 2002,I don't think theres anything changed.Pop down to his local employment office the'll have all the info.Lindsay
