I wonder if any one can help. I've got two pairs of rollers and was wondering if they need seperate boxes to breed in or if i can just put two nest bowls in the shed with them. I'm not bothered about who pairs with who this year as i just need experence breeding. Will the four birds fight when the eggs hatch?

Help please, thanks in advance.  ;)

Thanks Chris.

Can i leave them access to the avairy/flight while they are sitting or do you think this will encourage them not to sit on the eggs?

i would advise you put some boxes in if you get anything running about in your loft in the night they wont sit the eggs even worse would be is adult birds could be killed on the nest

Cool i think i'm going to go for it then. The shed is tidy and secure for rats etc (although there might be the odd mouse but it won't last long.!)

i think a couple of boxes hung on the wall would be better...they'd feel more secure...if they both nest of the floor they might fight after hatching JMO though as i aint no welsh wizard (evil)

no birds like nesting on the floor nature tells them for generations that theyneed to rest up high if u cant put up boxes even a shelf will do i know we all had then nesting on the floor but i think we would all like them off the ground

Don't believe that. Almost every loft you go to will have one pair trying to nest on the floor. We all like 'em off the ground but that is us.

Yes I agree with that but like I said it's our choice. There is always some bloody bird that decides to nest right by the door just where you want to step.
