wings Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 no good birds on sat it was a blow home Not quite a blow home with the East wind in it as we all know Pigeons don't like the East.
nogin Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Not quite a blow home with the East wind in it as we all know Pigeons don't like the East. there doing over 1800 velocity ???????????? :-/
hotrod Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Not quite a blow home with the East wind in it as we all know Pigeons don't like the East.were racing from east to west at the start of the season so yes it was a blow home to us in the west, a slightly different one for the aberdeen, fife/kingdom , east o scotland and dundee boys
Guest bigda Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 what clubs were they out of curiosity well there where one in the solway club, one in the Leicester club, the pentland club, the lanarkshire club, the Chester club, one in wales, one in Durham, one in Manchester all winning there club races and 3 are in contention to topping there feds sorry cant be more brief as it would take to long addressing, but they where not all blow home races, and if they where or weren't what difference dose it make, they are the fastest birds on the day
leighton1984 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 are fed was doing over 2000 velocity 126 miles to us thats fast racing but they must win at the fast and the slow races to be good birds. if they are at the top most weeks they are good birds.
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 there doing over 1800 velocity ???????????? :-/ Our winner was doing 2163.518.
REDROCKET Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 no complaints from me if i get them all in home in a blaw hame im a happy man especially if iv'e five in the top ten in club, and i was asking that question out of interest not to be a smart a**e thats all. its nice to know that he has birds all over the place it gets you thinking.
nogin Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Our winner was doing 2163.518. AYE VERY FAST RACE M8 8)
Guest bigda Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 no complaints from me if i get them all in home in a blaw hame im a happy man especially if iv'e five in the top ten in club, and i was asking that question out of interest not to be a smart a**e thats all. its nice to know that he has birds all over the place it gets you thinking. hope i didnt come on as that mate sorry if you felt like that, its good that you asked as George doesn't get the credit that he deserves, you just need to look at the lanarkshire fed results on this site, to get an idea of what the man has achieved and there is not one person in Britain equaled what he has achieved in racing birds, against 8- 10,000 birds have a look at his performances and fed toppers if he was from belgium or Holland he would dwarf them all with his performances alone
Ian McKay Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Good flying in my book McCaloneys are perfectionists and fly good birds but credit to them they were not in control here other fanciers were so makes it all the better
CREBAG Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Mccaloneys best stock birds were bred by Wall, Lunt, Green. So imagine how many winners theres were responsible for on Saturday?
blackdog Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 doesnt matter if blow home or on the nose good birds always come to the front.
Guest bigda Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Mccaloneys best stock birds were bred by Wall, Lunt, Green. So imagine how many winners theres were responsible for on Saturday? correct, they are in favour just now, he has been winning with other birds for 40 years, the man has had all types and even wall lunt and green cant get the :Xbest out of them as they have asked geordie how do you fly them ;D
Novice Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 There is absolutely no doubt that George Mc Aloney is a top pigeon racer. I agree with Bigda---for a change. Were his nationality different he would be hailed as a Superstar. When he was interested in Distance racing he won a National with Janefield Andy a Stoddart Cock. His Busschaert family are still winning today not only for him but for others. It is difficult to find words to describe his performances but then these performances say it for him.
LOUD AND PROUD Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Theres two men in Newmains Flying Club who just do as good with their birds and if it was not for the positions of their lofts im sure they would be just as well known as him, by the way they are both members of this form , one being last years average winner and the other runner up to Mr Mcaloney the previous year :)
fancypigeon_88 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 i won sat with a hen doing 2316 an the week b4 she won doing 1335. good pigeons will come no matter what wind
just ask me Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 what ever the way wind was it dont make a differnce with results like that its what i thrive for to get results like that fairplay
LOUD AND PROUD Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 i won sat with a hen doing 2316 an the week b4 she won doing 1335. good pigeons will come no matter what wind Very true after all thay are all in the same basket and are all given the same chance so wind should make no difference :)
CREBAG Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 correct, they are in favour just now, he has been winning with other birds for 40 years, the man has had all types and even wall lunt and green cant get the :Xbest out of them as they have asked geordie how do you fly them ;D Do you reckon? Thats why George had a dictaphone last time he came to manchester to see Les Green!! :P Ive never been to Mcalonys loft but ive looked at the results, long and hard believe me, now in one race i think 200 mile? he took the 1st 9 out of 6000+ birds yet in between those 9 birds was 7 minutes, now either they live in a valley or an awesome spot, or there racing against a load of numptys, you tell me as you know where they are?
hotrod Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 doesnt matter if blow home or on the nose good birds always come to the front. i disagree with that statement, good birds will always come to the front true, but horses for courses as they say i know my birds dont do well with the wind up their backsides ,but on their nose try and beat me .they are not bad birds in a blow home just cant handle the wind behind them simple as that
