simon9 Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 hi happy new year to everybody.i have a west facing loft due to available space at home.but the lads in my local club reckon i have no chance of any success facing west.just wondered if everybody agrees?cheers
b.massey Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Never heard of this before. Heard not to face north though? Due to cold north winds blowing straight into loft. And guess where mines faces....North lol :o ??)
simon9 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 sorry i meant west .can it be done successfully facing west tho?
BLACK W F Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 my old lofts faced west and the birds always flew well winning club and fed
Tony C Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Dont worry about it, its whats in your loft that counts.
simon9 Posted January 6, 2009 Author Report Posted January 6, 2009 cheers gonna have a good go at it anyway
Guest Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 Matters nowt, nice to be south facing but in summer lofts can get too warm. My stock lofts were facing west and they used to get the last sunlihgt of the day, handy in the winter.
Roland Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 dont worry its whats in your loft true... P.s casbri me ole mucker, on chit chat they are posting about alsorts... and vastly unrelated to pigeons! Just thought I'd let you know lol ;D ;D ;D
mark proctor Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 doesnt matter which way your loft faces m8...at my old address mine faced north..i had 22 wins to it with old birds in 7 years...at my new address now just started back up again last year 08..2nd race 1st club 9th fed...5000 birds... plus it was good last summer it wasnt red hot in the loft..
Guest Posted January 6, 2009 Report Posted January 6, 2009 my old loft faced west but was shielded from the west wind by the house never thought it meant allot my new loft faces south and i think the birds come into condition allot better and the sun is on the nest boxes all day good for the y/birds yes i think it does matter but if its all youve got you have to make the best of it
