Guest kev d Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 i thought i had two cock birds paired together for the last 3 weeks they have been treading each other all the time none stop , its been quite funny watching them but one of them as laid and are now sitting two eggs i would of bet any thing on them being both cocks they both parade round like cocks bouncing around like cocks they clap round the sky like cocks , i just can,t believe one of them is a hen i know its a stupid question but can they change sex , ive had pigeons for 30 years now never known any thing like it there both going to the nfc race on thursday i dont know now which one is the bloody hen any ideas .
Guest Hjaltland Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Had a laff at this one Kev.. The obvious question is Which one is sitting at night? I've had the occasional assertive hen which makes you wonder who's wearing the pants ennyhoo.. Enjoy your racing.
Guest G.Drysdale + son Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 I thought about changing sex to see if my wife would enjoy it.She's not into females.

Guest HawkBait Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 After 30 years of having pigeons what a silly question. ;D
Guest IB Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 My own family of birds is quite difficult to sex; have had hens that turned out cocks and vice-versa. My hens are also quite bolshie, some can turn any cock out of their box. While you may have a paired cock & hen, also possible you have 2 hens. Watch for more eggs, and fighting over who sits in the bowl.
just ask me Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 or the cock could be paired to this cock plus another hen that laid in the nest :-/
Guest HawkBait Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 ever thought of feeling for an open vent?

Guest Freebird Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 problem solved but i wount bother saying any thing else no more i wount bother posting no more so good bye and good look . Hey Kev, I don't think it was a stupid question at all and at least you had the ballcocks to post it. Just like us humans you get cocky looking and acting hens and cocks that look and act like hens so it's all right to have a laugh. Don't think anyone thinks your daft ( except that idiot hawkbait ) so stay a while and you'll see. After all, anyone who keeps doos has to have a sence of humour.
