Amazing how different forecasts are predicting the wind, met office is predicting east for the first 50 miles followed by south east which will enable the pigeons to do 50+mph.but as you say Tam it's too early in the week.

Agree with your plans for the yearlings but have quite a few old pigeons that will still be going this week as well.

Your last quote about the race controller is spot on.

just sending the ones,   that did not go to last weeks race mainly yearlings, as the pressure is on them,  from now on, east in the air  dose help but could make them come up the west side of the country,   seems to be a  bother when yearling go the west route, for some strange reason :-/ always  seems the older birds come through  from the west  imo :-/

We will also be sending mostly yearlings with the exception of the older birds that are bred solely for club racing.Weather forecast is certainly promising and with that little bit of extra heat in the Air should hopefully be a  good race. But as we all know its far to early to call with the many Influences that discourage good racing. ;)

just been back on the met to check if that north east wind doesn't change then where in for a very hard and testting race from newark so as i said before they will be plenty of empty perches. I lost 9 from that blow home last week so i hope i have got rid of all the crap but you never no this race will do the doos the world of good to get the hours on the wing they need for the weeks to come

that south in the wind will give the doos a help lets hope its not to strong a south east wind or that would do more harm than a north east its a good job am not the controler with this met chec its normaly accurate but a bit to early

looking good 4 sat but im a wee bit concerned about the birds getting water as the ones on sat from wakefield were diving for the drinkers when they arrived home

We (Glasgow) were at Newark last week  4 back from 5 yearlings agree with what you said about the birds being thirsty one hen just walked about the top of the loft drinking water as it fell but felt it was a fairly good race. One hen jumped in at 250miles never been in a race, late, but felt it was encouraging for next year. Swithering what to do for Leicester BBC weather on TV forecast really hot for the weekend 22-25 up our end so make sure the drinkers are full
