Guest KING BILLY Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 i no its a bit early but on the met check for saturday is showing clear blue sky's and 10 to 13 north east winds i will be sending my yearlings and a couple of older doos the rest will be kept for newbury it looks if this will be a very testing race for the yearlings but they have to go before i can get a gamble on them for licester and eastbourne whats your thoughts and are yous men thinking the same as me and remember they will be doos lost again as i predicted last week so lets get behind the new race controllers for these testing races to come
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 i no its a bit early but on the met check for saturday is showing clear blue sky's and 10 to 13 north east winds i will be sending my yearlings and a couple of older doos the rest will be kept for newbury it looks if this will be a very testing race for the yearlings but they have to go before i can get a gamble on them for licester and eastbourne whats your thoughts and are yous men thinking the same as me and remember they will be doos lost again as i predicted last week so lets get behind the new race controllers for these testing races to come Amazing how different forecasts are predicting the wind, met office is predicting east for the first 50 miles followed by south east which will enable the pigeons to do 50+mph.but as you say Tam it's too early in the week. Agree with your plans for the yearlings but have quite a few old pigeons that will still be going this week as well. Your last quote about the race controller is spot on.
Novice Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 I haven't checked the weekend forecast yet although a clubmate told me this morning that the temperature will rise slightly for the weekend.
ALF Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 All my yearlings that are fit and well will be going this weekend plus a couple of older doos
Guest bigda Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 just sending the ones, that did not go to last weeks race mainly yearlings, as the pressure is on them, from now on, east in the air dose help but could make them come up the west side of the country, seems to be a bother when yearling go the west route, for some strange reason :-/ always seems the older birds come through from the west imo :-/
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 sending my yearlings and 2 year olds that missed last weeks race to leicester this week and save the rest for newbury
ryesway Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 will update ya mate on friday if you like i live in newark
Guest bigda Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 will update ya mate on friday if you like i live in newark thanks mate
budgie Posted May 26, 2009 Report Posted May 26, 2009 We will also be sending mostly yearlings with the exception of the older birds that are bred solely for club racing.Weather forecast is certainly promising and with that little bit of extra heat in the Air should hopefully be a good race. But as we all know its far to early to call with the many Influences that discourage good racing.
Guest KING BILLY Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 just been back on the met to check if that north east wind doesn't change then where in for a very hard and testting race from newark so as i said before they will be plenty of empty perches. I lost 9 from that blow home last week so i hope i have got rid of all the crap but you never no this race will do the doos the world of good to get the hours on the wing they need for the weeks to come
ALF Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 XC weather is showing east then turning south east for saturday Tam :-/
Guest KING BILLY Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 that south in the wind will give the doos a help lets hope its not to strong a south east wind or that would do more harm than a north east its a good job am not the controler with this met chec its normaly accurate but a bit to early
rebel Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 looking good 4 sat but im a wee bit concerned about the birds getting water as the ones on sat from wakefield were diving for the drinkers when they arrived home
Fair Play Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 We (Glasgow) were at Newark last week 4 back from 5 yearlings agree with what you said about the birds being thirsty one hen just walked about the top of the loft drinking water as it fell but felt it was a fairly good race. One hen jumped in at 250miles never been in a race, late, but felt it was encouraging for next year. Swithering what to do for Leicester BBC weather on TV forecast really hot for the weekend 22-25 up our end so make sure the drinkers are full
Guest bigda Posted May 27, 2009 Report Posted May 27, 2009 the week end looks good for the lanarkshire again sunday the better of the two days east winds light 8-10 mph east south east 8 mph early lib i think again just the 10 feds north of us mostl at bewick 6 of them the only concern 1 at dunbar combine london north road
