BLACK W F Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 WELL SO WHY DID THEY ARRANGE FOR THE TOUR TWICE THEN CANCEL AND YOUR RIGHT TRANSMISSION OF DISEASE THEY DID NOT WANT TO RISK US CATCHING ANY AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED I WILL NEVER CONTACT OR BUY OFF THEM THERE ARE PLENTY OF PLACES TO GO AND VISIT AND BE MADE VERY WELCOME
Guest Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 Quite right and I agree with you BWF. Years ago I purchased many good pigeons from LPW when Louis was alive and was made most welcome. Today it is more like a cattle market and the hospitality is pi$$ poor.
pjc Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 there is a simple solution to transmission/passing problem from loft to loft! My mate would never let anybody in the loft unless they put a loft coat on, he kept a suply washed ready and there was a shallow foot bath to walk through! I must have gone in his loft hundreds of times but always the same procedure, some may say over cautious but his loft was full of a lifetimes work!
Guest Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 HE WAS GOING TO BRING THEM TO THE GATE HE CAN KEEP THEM I DONT WANT THEM AND I WILL KEEP MY CASH IF I CANT SEE THE LOFTS AND ALL THE BIRDS I DONT WANT ANY If i cant see what im buying unless i know the fancier i would not buy,ive traveled many miles looking at future stock some of which has been a total wast of time. Most visiters that come to me spend at least 4 to 5 hours looking at my stock, some have stayed down the week end so may be DEAN just dident have the time.Lucky for me most of my birds are sold on recommendation :)P.S no fancy lofts down here just very good birds
Guest Owen Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I have only been to Louella once. But I bought from them twice about 6 years ago. The birds I bought were ill and cost a lot of money to get them right. They bred me some reasonable birds in the next year. I was very unimpressed with both their premises and the stock in the pens. Then I realised that the birds they were selling were generations away from the original winners, I kept my money. I am sure they have supplied good and even very good birds in the past but I definately would not buy from there. I don't think they know what they are doing and it is just a money making scam and nothing else. If any Seller is not prepared to give the Buyer a quality of service, he does not deserve business. That is regardless of whether the name is Louella, Pallett or anything else. But, no-one forces anyone to buy from these people.
Guest briancol Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 hi, in the past 3 months, from about the middle of april 09 i have bought three lots of birds from louella, im just starting up so had to get birds from somewhere, the first lot after a few weeks developed canker, two dead and trouble getting it out of the birds but managed it,touch wood, louella replaced 1 of them with a bird im was not at all impressed with, next lot after a week 3 developed PMV had to kill those, they replaced them though i wasnt impressed with those replacements either, now they are showing signs of repiratory disease.so far i have spent money on a vet,and on medicines and looks like im not finished yet.less than 3 months ive had these birds and ive had nothing but trouble with them. but such is life, you live and learn.
edwards Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 all these studs will let you see all the healty ones lads stay away from them for cring out loud the man thats winning in your fed is your choice of birds to buy not because its gaby this svr that a jan this ect, ect,i really cant under stand why people go to studs unless for starters you have a blank check you will not even walk away with anything of interest. we bought off a top flyer and we thought that much of them we bought cream of his stock and it took me a long time to pay for the birds sure paying off already for them selfs so remember check your fed topper and try find how he flys them which is vital i know a lot of lads with fantastic birds but dont suit there way of flying or line of flight.

mart Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 Anyone know of any other websites selling pigeons The louella one seems to be really good but dont trust the birds after reading this? thanks
Guest strapper Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 with the amount of birds that pass through their doors and the amount they have ,it has to almost impossible that they dont get ill..i think they,d be lying if they state they dont. the birds i had from them a few years a go were 1st class but going by lots of different fanciers theres trouble brewing up there...its like a snowball.. gathering pace.
gangster Posted July 2, 2009 Author Report Posted July 2, 2009 i think this guy pm me is NIPPY is connected to them not sure though but by his posts sounds like it a mate of mine bought 10 all are sick he is treating them i would have culled the lot and sent the rings back and demanded my money back aye n nippy could also be another smart ass well known 2 us all..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

ringo Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 wish i had gone there looks a good site. never go back to louella again thats for sure.
Roland Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 John Gladwin of Formula lofts on here.... Found his honest, forthright and a first class gentleman. A realist to boot. The other I always recommend highly is of course Frank Bristow.
Guest HighSpeedLofts Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Iv just been on the louella website and on the sales lists it now says these pigeons are for stock purposes only fly them at your own risk why would anyone want to buy a bird thats not proven it self and not fly it not very good advertising if you ask me people buy to fly and there making the statement fly at your own risk
rasbull Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I think its because they are older young birds and more likely to fly away on trying to break in at your own loft. They put it on as warning so people realise they are going to be stronger when they first receive them. Well thats what I think anyway! lol
