Guest bakes Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 has anyone read this book thinking of buying it my self seen is advertised in the racing pigeon last few weeks all the best.
mcclaff Posted August 26, 2009 Report Posted August 26, 2009 i bought this book when it first came out, a great read, thoroughly recommend it. In depth interviews with top long distance fanciers, lots of great tips and ideas. If you look on ebay i see them for sale cheaper than from the pigeon magazines. Enjoy

chrissy Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 I know John,he only lives about 20 minutes from me and he has spent years writing this book, every time I used to bump into him he was still writing it.Tam and I read it the other week and we thought it was a great book.
peterpau Posted August 27, 2009 Report Posted August 27, 2009 Fantastic book and John certainly had a good bird in one of the internationals. When looking at the result it looked like a race only open to flyers in kent, then about 20 or 30 th there is John.

mcclaff Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 £21.95 they got it going for in racing pigeon good find any over good book around worth a read. I bought "Champions Vol 5" by Ernst Nebel - very good book and i'm told the other volumes are equally as good. Can't remember what i paid for it but it was worth it anyway. Geoff Cooper is in this one too and others like Koopman, Roger Florizoone, Kipp & Son, Verkerk, Mike Ganus etc, etc. 25 fanciers in total with detailed accounts of feeding systems, training, breeding etc. Any excellant reference book to pick a system to follow that suits your needs. There should be something for everyone in this book. I should probably read it again and stop with all the choppin and changin! :-/
dudley Posted August 31, 2009 Report Posted August 31, 2009 a great book ,truly dedicated people, nothing but admiration for them, you will enjoy the read, ken
