microscope help

bought this primitive microscope today at a boot sale..not a big outlay for it so not really bothered if its not good enough...total cost £1.50 ;D

 

its magnification goes from 100 to 200 to 300..is this suitable for droppings testing?

 

heres the pic...cast metal.

Should be ok for starters Paul,get a small table lamp point it at the mirror,you'll see things in your sleep.

How many eye pieces?

 

Just the one?

 

Whats the magnification on the eyepiece?

 

1 eye piece doesnt say anything on it.

Well you need some microscope slides and cover slips (e-bay are cheapest)

 

make up your own flotation liquid (you can just use sugar or salt in water a saturated solution - until the water won't take up any more of the solid)

 

and away you go (evil)

never heard of this before can u explain a little more about the flotation liquid please
