vanlink Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 THE QUESTION Do you think that a private members trust fund should be set up to safe guard the sport and ultimately the members within the fund or do you think that we should propose to clubs, regions and the main committee for them to impose a charge or levy and entrust them to manage it on our behalf?
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I know its off topic but could I ask if you are the same Mr. Link that is selling up in the BHW this week.
pigeonpete Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 i voted good idea but will never work, and 2 votes already saying dont care aslong as im o.k, thats why it wont work ;-)
BLACK W F Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 we all need each other for it to work it needs to be private so we get things done thats the only way
sammy Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 think the unions should be doing more about it after all its them who we pay or money to and what do we get for it ??
p charlton Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 the rpra should be helping us instead of other people out
gangster Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 ITS A SHAME THOSE 2 VOTES FOR I DONT CARE AS LONG AS IM ALRIGHT SUMS IT UP!!!...I WILL NEVER BE WITH OUT MY BIRDS NO MATTER WHAT!! BUT NOTHINGS GONNA CHANGE WHILE WE LET THE OLD FUNNY HAND SHAKE BRIGADE RULE THE RPRA....
pjc Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 We shouldn't have to set it up ourselves but what chance is there of the RPRA doing anything!
joe61 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 aint you just gotta laugh its 3 votes dont care now oh happy days
pjc Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Its not a fund thats needed its a change in rules to prevent members breaking up clubs to go and form another to keep certain members out!
marmite Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 im afraid to say that having a non fancier in the rpra namely mr bills who thinks that supportin all these charieties is more important than the members that pay his wages they should be workin for us to keep this sport /hobby alive rather than worrying about others we need a complete shake up in the rpra and get good honest fanciers in the jobs who will work to promote and protect its members (jmo) for what its worth
Guest spin cycle Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 im afraid to say that having a non fancier in the rpra namely mr bills who thinks that supportin all these charieties is more important than the members that pay his wages they should be workin for us to keep this sport /hobby alive rather than worrying about others we need a complete shake up in the rpra and get good honest fanciers in the jobs who will work to promote and protect its members (jmo) for what its worth i think thats harsh on david bills...i reckon he's done ok and he hasn't been in the job a year. certainly seems more use than bryant. anyhow..i reckon that some funds need to be diverted from blackpool show to a' fund' such as suggested JMO
gangster Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 aint you just gotta laugh its 3 votes dont care now oh happy days says it all joe dont you think
joe61 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 mick when there is sod all to talk about on here up comes the rpra or bop thread the rpra has been on b4 and all people want to do is talk about how crap it is and do nowt talk is cheap who voted mr bills into office must of been the fanciers if you dont like the way its run do something about it but i for one wont be holding my breath oh happy days
Guest Owen Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 I will suport vanlint. What he has put forward on another thread will do for me. In answer to the comment about Mr Bills. I see no reason why he has to be a Pigeon Fancier to do a good job for us. We need a professional, and that is what he is. There are too many people at the top end of our sport that are still thinking as they did in the year Dot. One such a person told me the other day that he, "Never bothers with computers". And he does not own a mobile phone. My question is, how can he possibly relate to the younger people in our sport? We must move into the 21st century, and we need dynamic younger people with fresh ideas to drive us on. You only have to look at the attitudes to ETS recently. Instead of embracing the new technology, some wanted to ban it. Huh. I bet that a lot of them were from the older element.
joe61 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 owen if you want a professional body to run it get a managment company in the belg and dutch are so far in front of uk you would not beleive so lets go do it guys oh happy days

RPRA won't, members won't and can you see the RPRA giving up the Blackpool income, unlikely!
joe61 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 lock the thread someone the debate has died a death oh happy days
Guest spin cycle Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 thing is...we can talk everything 'into a hole' if we want to. the very fact we're discussing this topic on a 'forum' with fanciers from all over is good...the message has to start somewhere. the thought that perhaps 'charity should start at home' a little with regard to blackpool will get around and into the ears of councillors...who perhaps dislike the net forums for the very fact that debate takes place whether they like it or not. if the 'clamour' gets big enough they have to act...perhaps not quite in the way the fancy likes but in the right direction.
pjc Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 who decides where the Blackpool money is spent?
sammy Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 who decides where the Blackpool money is spent? not the ordinary fancier thats for sure we only make the money for them by supporting the show but they have the say so to were it gets spent
Guest spin cycle Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 who decides where the Blackpool money is spent? good question...????????????
joe61 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 the money from blackpool is put to one side for boneses and exspences of rpra employees only oh happy days
showman Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 How can you reasonably be proposing this thread be locked after only 7 hours ? Paul
