Guest stb Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 u need to get a sighned transfer form from the persons you got the birds from. you need to get yourself a wing stamp with your contact details on.
PIGEON_MAN Posted July 2, 2009 Report Posted July 2, 2009 You need to get transfers for your birds off each of the people that bred them for you unless any have your rings on,these then have to be registered in your name at the RPRA,you can download transfer forms off their website,as for a wing stamp sometimes your club will have one you can use or you can buy your own or better still you can get coiled rings with your phone number on to put on the birds.

Guest phillip Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Hi all . Please inform . What is the purpose of a wingstamp and how is it used . Not familiar with it in South Africa .
Guest bakes Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 basically owners name and contact number mate so if the bird is found lost another easy way to trace the owner of the birds
Guest phillip Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Sound like something useful . Do you use this method when you fly from the continent or in general ? Our rings are province & union marked for easy tracing . Still something worth following up . Thanx for the info

Thanx for the infohello Philip ,most unions in the UK require you to wingstamp all your birds (wingstamp is rubberfaced with phone no or contact details ,on inkpad) but not all . i use a plastic coiled ring with details on. andy.
Guest phillip Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 Thank you for the info . Quite enlightening on different systems used in different countries .
