Guest frank dooman Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 Not any more Frank, there used to be an error put in by the mod which you could correct with some extra kit. the error has gone now though, accuracy is usually within metres. oh well that means the talliban will know what the pairings will be for next year no need for dna ;D ;D

ally mac Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 oh well that means the talliban will know what the pairings will be for next year no need for dna ;D ;D I remember years ago we were tied up down at Crinan, the GPS plotter was lying on for an hour or 2. Whoever had the job of putting the errors in that day must have been bored as the plotter showed a perfect maltese cross on the screen, even though we had been tied up.

Pompey Mick Posted December 8, 2009 Report Posted December 8, 2009 If you have the 'Bird's Eye view' facility on Bing maps the images are much newer. It gives views of the same location from the four points of the compass by clicking on the compass points. http://www.bing.com/maps/?FORM=Z9FD One of our members has a large 'L' shaped loft and is easily seen, type in PO3 6BX ,zoom in and go to 'birds eye view' and you will see Kevin & John Zerafa's loft near the postcode marker.

Ours is identical to the one on Google maps at least 5 years out of date :-/
Pompey Mick Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 Ours is identical to the one on Google maps at least 5 years out of date :-/ Not all areas have the 'Birds Eye' facility. John Zerafa's loft is less than 3yrs old, as is my own and they are both on the Bing maps with the 'Birds Eye' views.

Maybe they don't update all the areas, as Chick says it is still showing a garage I took down about 6 years ago :-/
