Roland Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Glen even Jan Aardens son stated - and he was left his dad's birds - said he didn't have any after a very short while AND was amazed to read so many selling them lol. Especially in the states later on.
Roland Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 If your serious about them, just go to Louella's and buy two pairs off The Spirits, Smadgg 1 and 2 and ac ouple more as such, and let the run like so many sucessfully fanciers have. One did and won not just Nationals - like others - but an International.
ally mac Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Theres a few for sale on Louellas 24th December sale. Al.

Tend to agree - Seems LPW has some very good ones - I wanted to buy a son of 'Invincible Dettori' but not at the price they wanted. If you can wait for a few months the Barcelona Challenge OLR has a YB auction - I put bids in last year for 2 nestmates (Jan aarden x Joe Murphy/Tow Mcewan blood and they have both flown well as youngsters - More than pleased at £40.00 each.
ally mac Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 This Blue Pied is down from invinsible spirit, generations of cheqs in the pedigree and no Blue bars, is this common.
Wizzer Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Not knocking the Jan Arden, I have plenty myself. Staf Van Wanroys are a good long distance strain which crosses well with the Van Der Wegens. They are good for distance. Might be able to help you out if interested.
Guest cloudview Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 This Blue Pied is down from invinsible spirit, generations of cheqs in the pedigree and no Blue bars, is this common. dont think its un common , id be more sceptical if you got cheqs from blues
Wizzer Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Steve Wright IN Exeter is a good place for Jan Ardens

Novice Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 Some on Elimar just now Dutch i think reliable information suggests they may have been selected on the basis of appearance
Guest stb- Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 reliable information suggests they may have been selected on the basis of appearance ;) VERY OBSERVANT
p charlton Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 This Blue Pied is down from invinsible spirit, generations of cheqs in the pedigree and no Blue bars, is this common. yeh i had 4 lpw in 96 they were blue pieds just like that had cheqs in the ped
Guest cloudview Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 hi waltzer , would any good distance strain be ok , the eric foxs for example or are you keeping to the aarden lines , i would be tempted to look in your own area an see who is doing the buisness at the distance regardless of strain
Roland Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I'd love some Foxes. Also some Double Gr. children of thsoe I've mentioned. I would wager they off spring would do well in spite of me.
ally mac Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 yeh i had 4 lpw in 96 they were blue pieds just like that had cheqs in the ped Thanks chaps, if it happened in my loft I would of wondered if something else had got to the hen, every days a school day
kirky Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 for my money i would be looking for dark cheqs / dark w/fs or dark cheq pieds, and would get them from steve wright, House of Aardens,
Roland Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 You know the reality is simple. Whatever strain birds are suppose to be good at, their niche so to speak, then obviously those winning at these niches must have these so - called birds. I.e. if Terry Berwicke is winning at 600 - 700 miles, you can call them Maisy's Daisies if you like, but these are the birds you would be seeking. Yes - wheyther for selling purpose or otherwise - they may also be of a certain name of strain. Thing is, is you trust, and have respect for each other - the seller and buyer - you will be told, like Louella's exactly what they are, or supposedly are I.e. Jan AArdens or Bussearts etc.
waltzer Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 cheers for all the reply's lads i have a good look local to see what every one is flying out to them distances {glen wilkinson & son }
