Guest Davy Fleming Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Those were the days and can still remember the guy downstairs from ma Grannie taking them on the bogie up to meet the train
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Quality footage from 84 years ago, brilliant
Guest IB Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Always fascinated by these yesteryear scenes. When I had pigeons in 1960's, Lanarkshire Fed still went to racepoints by train. Our club used a bothy on Bellshill station platform to basket the race birds. They went from there to Motherwell by the railway lorry, a scammell 3-wheeled tractor & trailer. Toulets were enclosed & sealed in wooden boxes by then though.
