Jeams Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Recently, i read a interesting topic on our Chinese Forum that the fancier won't sale good pigeons to local fanciers, and many fanciers think it is a universally acknowledged truth. What's your opinions on it?

Guest cloudview Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 usually just a selling ploy to make people outside the area think there somthing special . buy the birds ,yes but you dont get the man . ive got geoff kirklands , but its rare if i beat him with them
pearse1888 Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 if i was winning races and someone in my area came to buy some he would have no chance of getting them but there are plenty of people would ..
demolition man Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 i give more away than i sell but don't mind who as them, if there winning with them and beat me it proves i'm not on my game ;D and i need to get me finger out ;D
blaz Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 i won,t sell any of my birds to local fanciers .as when you sell then they can enter their birds in any of the races we have.will give yb,s to the best of my ability to friends and some of the young up and coming newbies.i have only 14 yb,s for myself up till now of my 1st round my 2nd round all of which are going out to the members that bought my yb,s at charity sale also to members that i said i would breed yb,s for.i think 30 yb,s all in going out in the next 3 to 4 weeks or so,all to fanciers out with my area.any one getting yb,s in my area from me i have rules to which race these birds cant go to this year only. nothing worse than aiming for a race only to find jo blggs won it with one of the birds you gifted him. to member that are getting birds from me that they bought at charity sales .the best tip i can give you is patients you will get good birds from better birds with a bit of patients.

Guest frank dooman Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 yes ive gave more away to fanciers in my area and the one thing better than winning is someone winning with your birds but to be truth full i would prefere them to go out the area JMO oh and iam still giveing them away just now

alec guinness Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 WELL SAID ALAN I ALWAYS GIVE PEOPLE FROM WHAT I RATE AS MY BEST BIRDS AND WOULD NEVER TELL THEM WHERE OR WHAT RACES THEY COULD/COULD NOT SEND THEM TO spot on alf, myself i try and give someone a bird that hopefully gives them a bit of sport as i love to hear that one of our doos has done well for a fancier local or not.
Guest youngboy Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 some wont sell to local fanciers as thay dont want to be beaten by there own birds, i dont mind myself as long as i get the credit as the breeder yep very true! also as kirky and a few others mention i wouldn mind being beaten by my own bred youngbirds as long as they no i was the breeder

Guest stb- Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 same way minded kirky.get as big a buzz if someone wins with one of mine. sadly some dont so you dont get there best incase you beat them AGREE100%
DOVEScot Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Is that why the foriegners sell us all their birds
BLACK W F Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Is that why the foriegners sell us all their birds Duncan there is a lot of foreign lofts give their best but you get the birds not them the same in the uk the thing is there is plenty crap all where ;D ;D ;D ;D
carlsberg Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 bred a bloke some birds in 07 he packed up in 08 and gave me the ones i bred him so i gave them a young lad in our club who then beat me at thurso in 09 and got 1st club 4th fed i was 2nd club 8th fed beat me by 5mins was nice because it was the only race he has won unfortunatly he has now packed up and he gave me the bird back saying that if he ever started again could he have it back
DOVEScot Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Duncan there is a lot of foreign lofts give their best but you get the birds not them the same in the uk the thing is there is plenty crap all where ;D ;D ;D ;D I know I was only gesting, I like them cheap foriegn birds the same as I like them cheap local ones
Guest challengerlofts Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Theres a time, its always nice to bought stockbirds from your own club member. You can choose off from their multi winner. Sometimes, you got lucky if they let you have it as well their inland & channel winner.
Guest bakes Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 i bred a round of ybs for a younglad that started up from my best stock birds i bought in that has holded there own club/fed combine open national level if i give anythink away i give my best if the birds i gave the younglad beat my birds i will get the same enjoyment than i would if i topped club fed as i no my birds are still capable of breeding the goods if im not winning with them then i no im not doing my job right.
Guest WINGS 04 Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Iwas told that when you give a bird it should be one that you want to keep as then you no it is the right one that you are giving away Blaz this pigeon race at xmass will fe ck up your hole season I hope I am wrong but for that race you will not get what you want out of the real racing season jmo hope I am wrong
budgie Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 If you cant give out of your 2% RIGHT wans dont give any away as that is what puts fanciers out of the game.I was in the Best Lofts In the U.K yesterday and was quoted if they had not sold or given away youngsters they would never have Known the 75% potential of their Stock as there are only so many you can race.
