Guest the gers Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 we were 4th in ist offshore and 31st in 2nd offshore training
WulDon Posted February 11, 2010 Author Report Posted February 11, 2010 well we got a right stincker today! this evening only 360 made it home from an entry of 1113. glad to say one of mine made it and finished 85th, some poor lads will be out the game after today... but they do say its the hardest pigeon racing in the world! it seems the largest majority of the flock headed for the coast line of the gran canaria island, with some being reported there today... a team of about 600 where seen in las palmas today also, hopefully some will get home tomorrow and throughout the week before the first hot spot race on 20th feb from gran canaria... here hoping the first hot spot race is a bit easier than forecast now that probably most the youngsters have came from that direction.... keep ya posted on tomorrow returns, they reckon about 200 of these pigeons should show up over next few days?

WulDon Posted February 12, 2010 Author Report Posted February 12, 2010 a steady stream of birds made it home today, returns now up to 531 no doubt more will show over next day or two....

alex wight Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Well done to you boys with pigeons taking part, i hope to be able to do like wise in years to come. It'll take special pigeons to cope i would have thought. well done
WulDon Posted February 13, 2010 Author Report Posted February 13, 2010 548 now, nearly half way there... i noticed last year they had a silimlar race from the first Gran Canaria Hot Spot, then the second Hot Spot also from Gran Canaria was great returns... so hopefully this race will set them up for the first Hot Spot on 20th Feb, just lets hope for some more over next day or two as after that i dont think they will be much cope for next week... mind u in there climate i would expect pigeons would bounce back far quicker than here?

WUL.D Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Hi m8... just the one left, so here hoping it makes it tomorrow. Seemingly about 50% returns is good from this racepoint, lets hope there wrong... lol I reckon most of the entries tomorrow have probabaly flown from Gran Canaria from the last Oversea Training Race when there was just over 50% returns... if so tomorrow might not be too bad?
cemetary Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Best owe luck Wullie, hope it does it mate,
