Guest IB Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 ok m8 al bear that in mind cheers was thinkin about air vented 1 That's the ones I use. Obviously need a nest felt with them. Birds will build on top of that. The youngsters have always something soft & warm to sit on, and always have something soft to grip with their feet, so they'll back themselves up to the bowl rim and plop over the edge onto the box floor. That's the only place in the box you need to clean droppings from daily, when the youngsters are in it, and I sprinkle stalosan on the box floor around the bowl. If nest felt gets fouled, simply spray it and turn it over, you've a fresh surface and an airflow under the bowl! And the nest felts I use are the black latex type, which are washable / sprayable with disinfectant and don't unravel trapping toes. Dead easy to keep clean, hygienic, and because I've had them for years and clean & disinfect them, no worries about needing to buy in new ones, seem to have acquired a bad reputation - so go careful if that's type you choose.
fletch Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 clay for me have a few really old clay ones they are really heavy but are a lot more deeper
