Ronnie Posted August 26, 2008 Report Posted August 26, 2008 roland, how are are the £99 for 6 ybs from the champions i dread to think. ive got one left from a kit of 12 braspenning's from Louella but what a pigeon it is.Ive still got all her youngsters this year and a yearling cock scored every channel race upto 350 miles this year. She has scored a lot in club and got 92nd section L from fourgeres and 38th section L from Alencon she then went out to tarbes 700miles and come 3 weeks late ive been told there meant to be sprinters.Imagine what she would of done if i knew what i was doing.Admittedly its only 1 out of 12 but that 1 is well worth it in my book's one of her youngsters took 1st club this week as well. Also on a side not has anyone new to the sport actually tried talking to a top fancier in there area?I know help and advice was very thin on the ground for me untill i started climbing up the club results i get an awfull lot of advice now strange that .

Sounds like the right way to do it to me. I have to say my preference would be to look for Barcelona on the pedigree as many times as possible. I've just parted with 8 nice youngsters as good as I've got. A shortage of cocks led me to buy 2 Aardens from Mass'es and I have to say I bought them off the web site, and Barcelona was all over the pedigree, They certainly look the part. Buy the best youngsters you can and race hard, till you have found the best. A pair is always good single birds are hard to breed with
Guest Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 this site, trust is everything, if you have guys you can trust bingo job done Unfortunately, not everyone on this site has been trustwothy Chriss! Fortunately though, there are a lot of geniune fanciers on here, the questionable ones seem to stand out! Some really good advice on this here thread, try and befriend those who you want to get birds from, that way you can try and judge the sellers pedigree first. As always, Buyers Beware, If in doubt, DON'T BUY!
Roland Posted August 31, 2008 Report Posted August 31, 2008 Ronnie, perhaps a good job you didn't know what you were doing eh Probably would have 7 and not flown out above the 300 miles. Another three years of Louella birds and what is left could well mean a great family of kitted distance / hard day birds. Well done... I believe that it's the ones lost that makes the loft.... weeded out the culls and left with racers. Of course not say some culls if not flown out wouldn't breed good ones. But Flown the whole way birds must surely have more credentials and chance to breed the goods.
