if it was not for all of my dads friends in the sport donating birds for sale he would not have been able to do the book cost a lot of money to print  and a lot of hard work chris was the presntation you attended in edinburgh my memory will never be as good as the auld man

Heard a story once,that Jim Rennicks could not get a stall at blackpool to promote Scotlands Own book.But there was plenty of non pigeon related stalls that year. > > >

that was the things jim was good at without getting noticed finding young and old fanciers and giving them a wee lift up

fantastic book,, was proud to have been asked to do a few articles,, on top fanciers 1995,, also had a great time with scotlands own, for many years, , jim renwick was dedicated to scotlands own, and made a great job of it,,, notice in 2000, full page pics of all nat winners

Used to collect these year books, got a pile tucked away somewhere.

 

Will always remember 1995 when Jim called me to say I had won Scotland's Own Under 25 Fancier of The Year, mainly thanks to winning 6th Open SNFC Niort that year 613 miles.

The presentation night was excellent, still remember it well. Numerous top fanciers from the UK were there and the number of offers for youngsters from them was amazing. Jim's dedication to this venture was magnificent

think the point in hand ,was that the Blackpool show went down in this fanciers estimations because genuine pigeon related issues became secondary to commercial ones that did not have any relevance to pigeon racing.

One thing about Jim Renwick he called it as he saw it spade was a spade to me he was pigeons mans answer to footballs Jimmy Sanderson neither suffered fools gladly - "caller were you at the  game" always springs to mind

yes i agree with all of the other posts ,i met wee jim a good few times at sales and nights oot smashing wee bloke and it was at his sale in the hunting lodge in kilmarnock in 1996 that i bought my first n.black and sons bird  GB 96 D 26835  BLUE PIED HEN  G/DAM OF KARENS GIRL AND LOADS OF OTHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA WINNERS (the dam of my loft really)  ps bought it for £50 , and dale your no a bad lad either .when i was at lothian charity show on saturday the weather took a nasty turn and dale offered to put me up for the night if i got stuck  thanx mate for the offer , yes theirs no many like wee jim renwick god bless wee man .
