Guest Owen Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 My aim is pretty simple really. I want to win all the races I enter. Most people in my area keep a lot of birds and it is not uncommon to see some of them enter 100 in young bird races. I keep and race a maximum of 16 widowhood cocks that usually becomes a 12 after a few weeks. And as the season progresses I mostly enter 6 each week. This is because I do not send yearlings over the water. My special tea is when I win with a cock out of my six against the big number flyers. And it is even better when he is pooled all the way. I rear somewhere about 25 youngsters and usually loose them down to about 18/20 before the first race. They are sent through to Lilliers. My ambition here is to win all the places down to 10. I have been quite close but I have not done it yet. Maybe this coming year.
Guest kev d Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 hi owen you don,t send yearlings over the water but you send yb over why is that any reason . my ambition is to win section d in the nfc in any race .
Guest j.bamling Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 After my 1st Combine Folkestone Nat this year it would be great to win it again but when i started on my own in 2004 my aim was to win 1st Combine from Bourges preferably on the day 556 miles but cant see it being this year ;D ;D
Roland Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 When too old to walk to the pits and feed the ducks and come home to feed the bird. I will still have them picking around in the garden and being enjoyed by both me and my neighbours.
blaz Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 to have a better season next year than the one i had this year.also looking forward to joining the S.N.F.C

Guest G.Drysdale + son Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 3 club wins this year in our 2nd season 27th combine from Falaise 1 more win or a place above 27th will do me
Guest mick bowler Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Mine is for me (and my son) just to stay in the sport, and maybe to start to enjoy it again. If i had known the hassle i and he would of got before we took them up again then i would never of bothered! Even when one of your so called "good friends" who i have known for years sticks the knife in then maybe it is time to get out!
Guest spin cycle Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 it depends....realistically just do a little better than i did last year. the ambition is to develop a family that can compete well 250-550 miles. the 'pipedream' is to be competitive in the nrcc. the other 'side issue' would be to develop a little sprint strain for 60 - 130 miles. i've mixed feelings on winning big races...yes it sounds good...but then people become jealous wanting to beg/buy or steal your birds or worse.you come under pressure to do better still etc. not that it's going to be a problem for me (evil). really i'd like to become good enough so that other fanciers, when my name was mentioned, said 'ah yes he flys a good pigeon'...that would do
andrecrock Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I love y/b racing and to top the d sec in nfc will be nice.
marmite Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 my ambition is to build a consistant team of distance birds to race the internationals with the bicc or nfc and to 1 day win it but thats a few years away i expect when i can slow down at work and have more time at home to do what i enjoy which is race pigeons from the distance
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 I live in the West of Scotland, so getting them home is a bonus..!!! Lol...!!!!

Blue Chequer Pied Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 My all time goal is still to be racing in 40 years time. My goal is for there still to be a club/fed to compete in . My goal is to encourage new members to take up this amazing hobby, to have the same passion that i have. My goal is for my son/daughter to have an interest and take the sport forward and tell people when I am long gone that their dad was a good pigeon man. Paul.
robbiedoo. Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 very well said and a great attitude to the sport good luck to you .

rasbull Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 My ambitions include establishing a loft that wins reguarly at club and fed level. Ultimate aims will be to win a National race. I also have ambitions to win the Europa Classic, South West Loft One Race and if and when I do enter the Sun City Million Dollar Race. Will have to see what the future brings! ;-)
Guest ROCKYandRAMBO Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 mines to move to belgium and sprint race with the best then when i win few races i can sell a load of late breds to every one in england so they make silly money lol dont think it will ever happen but thats what i would like or be some ones loft manager so i can get paid doing what i love doing must being with pigeons sad i know lol but ive had the same dream since i was 3 lol
Guest youngzimmy Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 TO HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO FEED THEM AND A LITTLE CHANGE TO BUY MYSELF A PIE
pigeonforce Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 To win at least one club race would do me, with only starting to race birds in 2009, i was blind to how competitive it is, 2010 i think iv got some good birds lined up to get some good youngsters that may stand a chance. I was over the moon when we came 242nd 8) in the Europa classic, so a to win any race with birds i have bred myself would be a bonus and make me happy
