Guest coxy Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 hi just wondering peoples veiw on what is the best system for sprint racing.may it be with cocks or hens all views are much apprechiated
pigeonland Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 always raced widowhood cocks untill this year now racing roundabout the last 2 weeks my 1st 10 birds have all been hens. these hens had never been in a basket but for 2 training chucks at 12 miles before racing and had been used only as widowhood hens 3yr olds 2yr olds and yearlings none have raced untill this year http://www.pigeonland.co.uk
jimmy white Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 in my opinion ,for sprint races,,,,widowhood cocks,, its simpler
Guest coxy Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 but what if u have more hens than cocks m8 like in my case
Chris Little Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Widowhood , just simply no comparison to a cock screaming home like a rocket to see his hen
peterpau Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 Top winner in our club. Widdowhood hens but they aint seen the basket yet, and 350mls is the limit.
Guest coxy Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 do u do well with natural then m8? as i was tld its alot of work the natural way
Guest WINGS 04 Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 WIDOWHOOD COCKS FOR ME MUCH EASIER AND YOU DO NOT HAVE THEM PAIRING UP AND GOING EGGIE
Guest Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 I have been a friend of Marc De Vadder for almost 30 years, there are not many sprint fanciers better than him. He always races his sprint bird natural, normally with big youngsters 20-30days old. Remember the sprint in Belgium is 25-40miles and 60%+ of Belgian fanciers only fly this distance
CREBAG Posted April 23, 2006 Report Posted April 23, 2006 i sent 22 hens and 20 cocks to this weeks race from cheltenham 107 mile i had 5 hens drop together to take 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th club 330 birds if u have more hens coxy, race em back to cocks (widowhood hens)

vincentmudd Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 What can you reccomend to read/view to give me the basics of the roundabout system?
DUBLINFLYER Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 always raced widowhood cocks untill this year now racing roundabout the last 2 weeks my 1st 10 birds have all been hens. these hens had never been in a basket but for 2 training chucks at 12 miles before racing and had been used only as widowhood hens 3yr olds 2yr olds and yearlings none have raced untill this year are you sure everything was ok with the cocks at the time http://www.pigeonland.co.uk
T_T Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Firstly I suppose the question is, has anybody tried all the systems mentioned? and which in their opinion is the best? Surely you don't know until youv'e trid it. I am deperately wanting to get into the celibate system with cocks for down the coast but there dosn't seem to be much information floating about on here or people are keeping quiet.
