MY YOUNGBIRDS ARE TAKING FOREVER TO COME HOME FROM TRAINING  IE UP TO 40 MINS FOR 23 MILES, THEY ALL COME TOGETHER AND DONT LOOK NERVOUS ON ARRIVAL, IVE TREATED FOR THE USUAL RESPO CANKER COCCI WORMS AND YEAST INFECTION,THIS MORNING I TOOK THEM 10 MILES DIFFERENT DIRECTION THEY TOOK 28 MINS ALL CAME TOGETHER.MY TEAM IS MIXED DARKNESS AND NATURAL.

How many tosses they had BANDIT and how much are you feeding them.

hi Bandit  i would look at your feeding  also put them up in small batches  this should help

TONY THEY HAVE HAD BETWEEN 15 AND 20 TOSSES FROM 23 MILES,11 HAVE 4 RACES OUT TO 163 MILES.I THINK ITS TAKING THEM TO LONG FOR SUCH A SHORT DISTANCE.

BLACK WF IVE MAYBE BEING GIVING THEM A LITTLE TO MUCH FOOD BUT I WANT THEM FOR NEXT YEAR ,SOME OF THE GUYS SENT THEM VERY LIGHT AND I WONT GO DOWN THAT ROAD,MAYBE I NEED TO GET THE BALANCE RIGHT ALSO ILL TOSS THEM UP IN SMALL BATCHS AND SEE HOW THEY GO THANKS.

PIGEONPETE THEY WERE COMMING WELL IN THE RACES UP TO LAST WEEK WHEN WE HAD A STRANGE RACE,I WAS 10 MINS BEHIND THE WINNER AND ENDED 15TH CLUB BIG GAPS IN EVERYBODYS RETURNS.WAS 5TH AND 9TH , 3RD 4 TH AND 5TH ,AND 2ND IN THE OTHER 3 RACES.

if they come o.k the race before, all seems well, see how they are this week, if still 10 mins behind, they may have picked a touch of something up in the baskets? your not working them too hard are you? how long do they fly for round the loft?

 

And are you giving them to much protein?

bandit are your  nat younbirds holding your darkys back  if you want to really want them back and keen i would pair them  if for next season i agree with you i would rather feed a wee bit extra not bother about prizes just returns with y/bs thats the name of the game

Thanks all for the advice,feeding a fairly light mix early during week then a bit stronger during end of the week,ill send my darkness babies this week and see how they come,the following week we have a comeback race so 2nd team will go then.

do u let them out round home before u train them, they will burn off all there energy then. Then train and they should come straight home then in good time

Stopped letting them out arround the loft 3 weeks ago,just train them most days from 23 miles then race them saturday.

heres some more advice to meny short tosses they getting BORED tuesday and thursday 40 to 50 mile rest of week just around home morning and night stick to same feed dont change it
