sapper756 Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Now that the young bird season is well under way, do you have a specific youngster that is starting to stand out from the rest of your team? ie, won a race, or first to your loft each race, or made it home on hard race days/ injured. Just for a bit of interest folks, feel free to post pictures
michelle Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 i have one thats stood out blue bar hen every wk she first in :) lovely bird eats out my hand now comes in the house when i open the door cute :)
REDCHEQHEN Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 Not really, the only ones that are standing out at the moment are the ones who aren't going to make it to the yearling stage, and thats from someone who will normally walk to the ends of the earth for even the duffers to give them that chance to prove themselves

Tony C Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I must admit I'm keeping my eye on a blue bar hen that I bought back at a breeder buyer sale, she's been on the clock 3 times out of 4 races winning twice.
jimmy white Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 great post, and great to read about pigeons lol,, for my pennith worth ;D in the past ive seen no advantage in racing yb,s to the bitter end , i always stopped a few after the hundred mile mark, off course being well trained , among these stopped yb,s i have often found my best ob,s ,, but its hard to stop them when their comming well, but, as i say , if stopped when comming well, these are the ones for the future,, only ny opinion,, good luck all in yb racing
