Guest IB Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 Well done all, and congrats to D Young & Son (basics member WD) their pigeon looks to be at or near top, flying around 440 miles.. What's the distance into Peterhead? Given the almost non-stop rain, the birds performances have been outstanding.

Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 what was this race held for what was it commerating
Guest IB Posted July 6, 2008 Report Posted July 6, 2008 what was this race held for what was it commerating It was commemorating the thousands of soldiers killed in the First World War battles around the Somme at Ypres, and Passchendale (spelling). Many of them not much older than yourself, Ben. It may become an annual event. (Hopefully).
