JADE Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 not allowed in scotland dont know about rpra rules . i think reason was something to do with snowball or accumulator and dispute over which was first bird. money...the root of all evil lol
pjc Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 i thought the 2 in 1 thimble RPRA rule had been changed to allow it.

Guest Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 Taken from 2009 RPRA Rule Book 206. (a) All clocks MUST be set by the Official Clock Setter(s) or whomsoever they may appoint, at least one of whom MUST sign his/her name on the dials and rolls before being used on the clocks they set, together with the name of the race point, date, clock number (unless printed when struck), the name of the competitor and the name of the Organisation. The clock record sheet or envelope MUST bear clock number, time of setting, the receptacle showing on the clock, race date and the competitor’s name and be secured as laid down in R.P.R.A. Rule 188. At the checking of clocks the officials appointed MUST fill in MASTER TIME, clock times and variations of the clock record sheets or envelopes. ONE CONTAINER ONLY SHALL BE TAKEN AT A TIME FROM THE CLOCK AND CHECKED. One rubber only to be inserted into each container. When a member times more than one rubber into one thimble, that thimble is disqualified excepting when two race rubbers come off the same pigeon ( All clocks set for competition must be set to receive a container in the first receptacle available for that particular make of clock. © Where a clock has to be re-set under the provisions of Rule 203, a single signature will suffice.

Guest vining45 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 so on ets if birds on same second or land together is it not the same as two timed together wheres the differance you still have two birds with same velocity
JADE Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 ets can tell which recorded first to a fraction of a second.....look at the one loft race times in the bhw
Novice Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 I think the rule was made to stop potential cheting. Pooler rrives home late. Take the rubber off and place in your pocket. After the clocks have been checked and thimbles returned to you tell the clock setter that there were 2 birds in your first thimble. Produce the thimble from your pocket containing the rubber from the pooler. That is what I was told when the rule was introduced. Could be codswallop.
ginge Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 well at least this thread will be read by novices such as me and learn by it

pjc Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 i agree Rose, especialy about only having 1 clock! You can have an ets pad on every trap but only 1 clock which is always in the wrong loft when the first bird comes!
PIGEON_MAN Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 ets can tell which recorded first to a fraction of a second.....look at the one loft race times in the bhw Only the one loft clocking system gives you fractions of a second though, the printoffs we get only shows hour, min, sec,so if 2 birds have the same time you will have 2 birds with the same velocity.
