I purposely train on race days.

 

When they are racing they can end up anywhere depending on weather, clashing etc;

 

Although I train on race days they go no more than 50 miles.

thats realy sound advice,to be putting about for the novice on here,train your birds on race days.i am 25.years flying and would not do it.dismiss this advice

All races are won in the loft no the basket, my da was no a man to spend big money on pigeons, cos we never had any! BUT his pigeons were the fittest in the race. He didn't train on a Saturday that i can remember cos he could get them fit any day of the week. He won out of turn for years with his methods. Never take liberties with the doos the good ones suffer too.

no need to train at all if they working well round loft as u cant teach them to home as thats bred into them only need a short 1 to teach them to get outta basket quick jmo after 43 yrs racing
