THEMAN Posted July 25, 2006 Report Posted July 25, 2006 I had a question regarding what loft management software you all used. I was looking at Hawkeye but another flyer just bought it and had some issues and could not call for support as they only do email support. They say that due to the fact that they are in Australia and the the time difference is the reason they do this. Well this is not a good method of support if you ask me a chat window would be better. Not to mention that my friend sent 3 emails that went unanswered. I went over and fix his issue and got a chance to look at the program, I liked it, but am leary about the support issue. Please do not think that I am bashing or flaming this software just stating my opinion, I am still very interested in getting it. So, I wanted to know what other programs are out there and what you all thought about them as far as ease of use, support, updates, backing up, and overall what you think of them. Thanks. Tony
Guest shadow Posted July 26, 2006 Report Posted July 26, 2006 Try EastCoastSoftware theirs is very easy to use you get automatic updates and help is only an E-mail away have had no problems with mine
pender Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 i bought east coast one few years back, it would not work with my hewlet packard printer so had to buy new one, i then after a year bought latest model of printer from epsom guess what yes your right my software would not work with that either. on calling them they said it not work with hewlit parckard but should with epsom then they told me o you have 32 bit programme you need larger bit one now. well i think they should have had that on there advert wen adverstising it.
Guest shadow Posted July 27, 2006 Report Posted July 27, 2006 I have changed printers twice since buying the original program 4 now on no 8 and it has worked perfectly currently using an epsom printer
Ron Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 I have tried a couple of different programs and have found Hawkeye to be the best hands down. The support group can be kinda slow but I have emailed them directly and receive nothing but a prompt and curtious reply. It's money well spent in my opinion Ron
Jack Barkel Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Hello Ron, I have to agree with you, I have tried many programms but have found the Hawkeye Loft Management to be the best and most reliable. So much so, I decided to represent them in South Africa. I have never had one dissapointed customer in this regard. I have over 500 pedigreed photographs of my stock pigeons in this program, plus I am able to post JPEG pedigrees by e-mail to anywhere in the world, plus many other features not available to other programms. I certainly can recomend it to anyone. Regards Jack Barkel.
pierredp Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Hi there. I'm Pierre from Comproware, the developers of Hawkeye. Could you perhaps tell me who's e-mails went unanswered? Since the spam blocking era started, we had several individuals who does not receive our e-mail replies. The biggest cause was that the e-mailer did not have us on there white list. We also had a few individuals who provided the incorrect reply e-mail address when lodging a problem on our web site. Another problem that occurred was that the user's e-mail inbox size was exceeding their quota. I'm posting this here to explain why someone might not get a response from us. We have updated the support system and I'm sure this will not happen anymore. We have implemented a ticketting system where you can lodge a ticket on the web site. This way you can follow the progress until such time as it get closed. The great benefit of this is that spam filters/rules, typo's will no longer prevent you from getting a response. Just visit our web site http://www.comproware.com and click on the new button we created “Hawkeye Support” Many Thanks, Pierre http://www.comproware.com
T_T Posted August 5, 2006 Report Posted August 5, 2006 Where do you all get your ink cartridges from for your printer ?
REDCHEQHEN Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 I got some from e-bay and its crap - it bleeds out into the paper. Somebody recommended this company to me - they use the epson compatible cartridges and say they are good, but I haven't used the company for ink cartridges yet. http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/default.php?cPath=777&r=AWIN
T_T Posted August 7, 2006 Report Posted August 7, 2006 Redcheqhen, I use Epson compatible and the company I use is called UKDVDR so if you type that into your search engine you will see. They are the cheapest I've found and I've had no trouble with leakages.
