Hello, How many flyers in your clubs? Birdage in races? Lofts on your property or on a community lot with others? The birds I purchased as latebreeds last year are off imports from a Dean Pallet, any info on him?

Dean Pallett bought the best, and the entire lofts of STAF VAN REET, but others who went to Stafs atthe same time bought a few select ones  these include BERT HESSION, TONY MARDON, DAVE ALLEN, all good pigeon flyers and stockmen.

Mick I thought that was the case but was not sure so could not put that detail down, so put same time.. But its not always the case that first man there gets the best, but the players i mention all got top birds from STAF as strong as his bloodline was. I could not disagree with your post mate. 100% spot on.

TOO BE HONEST THEY ALL GOT HIS CREAM AND I THINK MORE SO BERT AND DEAN REALLY  DID CARRY ON STAFS GOOD WORK ..

Yes i agree, Dean had more resources as he bought loft stock and barrel so to speak, Bert bought less birds direct but made exactly the same impact , the 2 metioned are like you say are the only 2 I would have SVR from.

Best Van Reets I ever had were from  Jimmy and Sue Dickens. They were terrific birds and were a huge part of my young bird team that won the Fed youngbird averages. I found they worked well pure but better crossed into Planet Bros Van Loons and my Pearson and Dransfield Busschaerts.

Paul.

p.s hope we have not highjacked the thread

dean pallet birds ended up like the vandabeeles of M  and D EVANS ,every tom dick and harry had them ,that is what happens when a new craze comes out ,to me they are very good birds but like every thing else you got to be lucky and end up with the right ones ,i had them and x them with the cauldwell birds and wone with them ,but now im into the distance racing so i have changed birds ,[one lucky person on this site is having my last pallet hen  and cauldwell cock for breeding] i wont mention your name SPORTKA.any way i bet none of you new this ,dean pallet would not have been the person to have introduce  the SVR into this country he only was because of a wrong desicion ,a friend of mine by the name of MR P,J,WELLS  and a good friend of his were having the first ever birds from SVR they were the same lot of birds that dean pallet ended up with ,the only reason that MR WELLS and his friend did not get them was because his friend decided to change his mind at the last miniute ,[what a bad desision ]ATB  les .

No he doesn't race anymore. They are similar to Linda's at red rose lofts and she is a top girl and could help better than anybody I guess.

That is exactly why I sought out her source, she and another flyer I came across had success with Van Reets and live in similar climate and terrain as me, one in Utah and Linda in Oregon. How long ago were these birds introduced in UK?

In my club there's 22 members, on average 14 send per week.  My club has a radius of 1 3/4 miles from our clubhouse. Birdage for the early races is around the 350 mark, this falls off the further into the season we go. Members lofts are in their gardens, I personally have three lofts. 24x6 which house 24 w/hood cocks, 10x6 which house 8 pair of naturals and my young bird loft measures 16x6 which houses between 30-40 y/birds.

All I know about him is he is one of several guys who got Van Reets. How long ago did this take place and does he still race?

His son is about to start racing.... also hear that Dean is about to too. Am at the club tonight - 30 minutes infact, and will ask there.... Some live next door, and I'm just a bucket and spade away from Dean. I know saw in last weeks H World - or week before -either his uncle and with his Dad are racing.

At the moment it is just his uncle flying. Whether any otjhers will start .... :-/

Anyway as Dean says, if you're gonna sell birds and RACE they have to win.... if not, don't race.

wow, very close together, can't be much grumbling about being long or short.  I'll be flying in a club w/ 12 or so flyers 35 miles from the short end to me. club birdages 200 or so, combine 25 flyers 500 birds 70 miles deep. 8x12 loft, so I'll be keeping few birds.[/img]
