feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 what is the procedure if birds escape from transporter
pjc Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 If a bird escapes all birds should be rerubbered, not sure of procedure regarding ets
feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 our birds were liberated 45 minutes later doing nothing this must be wrong
alex wight Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Not sure on the exact rule. But if the convoyer reports an escapee, the race is null un void and needs to be raced again, i would have thought, just my opinion.
pjc Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 I thought that within the convoyers code of conduct / rules they had to carry equiptment to re-rubber unless they know which basket the bird came fromthen they could just re-rubber that basket.
hepste Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Without looking at the rule book, I think the ring numbers of all remaining birds need to be recorded. Makes sense.
feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 thank boomerang thats what i thought
alex wight Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Its ok if they know what basket it came out of, to take numbers.
Guest REDFOXKRAUTHS Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 we had some get out once and all the birds were let up early
JADE Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 if there is a record of which basket each bird is in they just have to re rubber that basket otherwise the whole lot should be rerubbered. ets rung birds should have their registration ring recorded. personally i dont see the need to rerubber if the registration rings are checked
ChrisMaidment08 Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 if in avent of escapebasket number to be taken club i formed relocked re rubbered then let go all convoyers know which baskets from which club or controler will hold rest till birds clear
feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 they had cut the strings ready to go at 9.30 then they decided not to go but birds allready got out at 9.30 then at ten on the lib line they told us to call back lib line at twelve 0 clock when we phoned back at twelve they had released at 10:15 no mention of birds escaping what do you make of that
Guest Vic Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 Would be better to say nothing, but record what happenned to the o/i/c at the home end., in the event of an impossible velocity being recorded. Too much work any other way! IT'S HARD ENOUGH TO GET GOOD CONVOYERS WITHOUT CRUCIFYING THEM. LOL.
Guest peter.j Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 We had a race i think in 05 from 68 miles we clocked in after 59 minutes and had all within 15 minutes however a fancier beat us clocking in after 44 minutes flying further and in a less favouralble position on the day. I maintain from that day to this, that bird escaped but nothing was ever done about it - I will see if i can find result to show difference in velocitys sour grapes lol
feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 yes i agree good covoyers are not good to get
Guest Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 if they know the baskets they escapes from that has to be re marked or hold all the birds for a few hrs and then lib that will let you know the birds that escape if fanciers are honest they will phone sec and let him know about early arivals but the race is NOT void its the same if a basket or single birds dont go when libed common sence and honesty helps in that situation
PIGEON_MAN Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 RPRA ruling is,In the event of any pigeon(s)escaping, convoyer must seek his/her Organisations official regarding emergency action to be taken.
feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 our club only got to know the next day
jont Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 heard the story at the club that a basket of buckie birds escaped general feeling was it must have been the row of ten crates because of the quick release mechanism club officials asking for an explanation. john thompson
feathers Posted August 11, 2008 Author Report Posted August 11, 2008 MOST CLUBS IN FED ONLY HEARD TODAY ABOUT THE ESCAPEES
chucka Posted August 11, 2008 Report Posted August 11, 2008 should stamp all the birds left on the transporter
Mr Yorkie Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 How many of the convoyers are actually pigeon men and could handle a bird for rubbering? Think it would probably end up with more escapees!
sapper756 Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 With regards to ETS, birds still need to be rubbered, and at the clocking station, you need to produce the rubber, therefor the owner of the escapee will not have a rubber to produce
