I though that Ward Bros, Alwyn Paddy etc raced the Van de Weyers and not the Karl Hermans!

M & D Evans have the hermans,, we have a mixture of karel and van deweyers.. terrific birds..

they did have the karl hermans plus a few vander weyers,they are more or less the same family has vander weyer was related to karl herman and he got most of his birds from him,ive seen and handled some of the best hermans thats flown up here in yorkshire but even bill ward has said there not has good now since other breeds have come about,but they were fantastic years ago,,broke my novice status with wardys hermans.

i dont know where you get the idea that van der weyers  where hermans he did have some after karels death but not before he was karels step son  karel married  van der weyers mother who was his  house keeper  he was in his 70s when he married her  van der weyer lived on the next small holding  

karel would not give him birds   in fact he would not give him any thing

So obviously, unless in Gretna Green I suppose, if someone marries your mum they become your Step Father (Dad)

Now I think that is what you mean.... Unless Karel married Weyars Mother.

Mick  karel would not give him any remember karel was bank rolled by his nephew  

dr Paul Hermans  Basil Beebe was a very close friend of both Karel  and Paul    but i do agree with you they are steeped in Herman blood but not the  Meil  or Jeff lines as they where long gone  the Jeff was sold to America   and the Meil was sold to a Newcastle fancier
