jimmy white Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 if you set your stall out for the distance then no need to train in this i wont be training until its right but dont hold it against any one who is training now every one to their own all the best for the season to all seems to me a very fair comment,, rather than a silly arguement ;D,, every one to his own, but just a few miles from me at leadburn [the lothians] theres is still large snow drifts at the side of the roads and the hills still well covered in snow , in my opinion just too bad for training,, no matter what races,, jmo but its completely up to the fancier , they are managers of their own birds :-/,,,but lets hope the weather improves ,,, for us ;D ;D ;D lol

ally mac Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Is there any difference to the flying round the loft for 40 mins or an hour to flying home from a 20 or 30 mile toss?
Guest frank dooman Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 when they are flying at the loft they can put down any time they want ally also if they dont head stright back as they sometime do in the early toses i just dont think it does them any good JMO

jimmy white Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Is there any difference to the flying round the loft for 40 mins or an hour to flying home from a 20 or 30 mile toss? in my opinion a big difference ally,, birds exercising around the loft will do it at their leisure,,in fact enjoy it,,, and take nothing out themselves, but a 30 mile toss in this weather [in scotland anyway ;D] they change gear, in flying home, it is easy to see what it takes out the birds,, then more easily noticed in results later in the season
