Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Has anyone ever heard of pigeons getting gaviscon to perk them up?
Taylorsloft Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 they will need more than gaviscon after the maidstone race
REDCHEQHEN Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 :X :X yuk, horrible stuff :-/ No - to the question ;D
madmaxlofts Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 i need gaviscon for the acid waiting for my birds let alone them lol
Guest Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 they will need more than gaviscon after the maidstone race I'd thought of something similar - for me it was the fancier would probably need it more than the bird , heart-roast rather than heartburn.
Guest Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 On a more serious note - have you considered the contents of any of these non-pigeon specifics for any banned pigeon stimulant?
Roland Posted June 25, 2007 Report Posted June 25, 2007 you know too much crap is fed. put on feed, in the water 'Has to be yellow to be stella' nonsense. Feed them grass, golly look how powwerful, Bison, and our Bulls are. Plankton in the water, look at the whales power. And why can't Pigeons eat grass! Because their syste,m isn't set up for it... likewise plankton. Cows etc. have 8 stuamachs to cope with the digestion for instance. Legumes, peas, beans etc. and all their natural food contains - mostly unless birds get sick, or poorly etc. - all the mins and vits they want and need. etc. etc. A cup can only hold so much... then is over full and passes out as waste.
mookie Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 Has anyone ever heard of pigeons getting gaviscon to perk them up? gaviscon is an ant acid which would contradict cider vineger
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 It was an old fancier who told me about it but I dont know why you would give them it. Just thought I would ask
DOMINIQUE Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 It was an old fancier who told me about it but I dont know why you would give them it. Just thought I would ask i know of people giving this to combat young bird sickness and they swear by it for this illness and are 100% certain in saying it works. And they are old established fanciers .
Ronnie Posted July 10, 2007 Report Posted July 10, 2007 I think it would lower the ph level of the pigeon thus making it harder for certain germs and stuff to get a hold.Like vinegar makes the pigeons inners more acidic Gaviscon would make it more alkaline its a balancing issue what is the perfect ph level for a pigeon to combat most germs and bacteria? If its good against youngbird sickness then Youngbird sickness must be caused by upset ph levels which is letting germs and bacteria get a hold.Make the living conditions unbearable and most things will move out including good bacteria as well as bad.
