frank-123 Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 Hexamita Hexamita is an organism closely related to the organism that causes canker. It lives primarily in the bowel and in high numbers can cause diarrhoea. It is diagnosed by microscopic examination of a fresh faecal smear. Well-cared-for, non-stressed pigeons can carry low-level infections asymptomatically. However, Hexamita as with Canker should be totally eradicated in the racing pigeon loft to ensure that the birds at their best. sorry spelt it wrong
