Guest monkeynuts71 Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 why is it so hard to get the vacine? having read an article from a vet thats recomends vacinating earlier rather than just before racing starts with youngbirds. so i thought i would buy the vacine and get them done but having 25 youngbirds and a hand full of stock birds i thought just get the 80 dose, easy , you would think :( no only 200 doses in stock with the 2 places advertised in british homing world, so ive ordered the 200 hundred dose just to get them done, better be safe than sorry i think. rightly or wrongly. how long does the vacine last once the seal has been broken??? im sure the instructions will say weeks/months but honestly in real terms??? i know it has to be kept in the fridge etc they really dont make this sport easy do they :X :X
REDCHEQHEN Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 The instructions will tell you correctly - that you need to use the vaccine in one go - and throw the rest away - you have to use within hours of opening
Roland Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 Thought, like most, that put back into a fridge it is still ok for a while longer. :-/ Many, very many do this.

PIGEON_MAN Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 So does anyone know where they are selling the smaller dose bottles.
pjc Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 i think pigeon pharmacy had a limited stock but not sure if they've run out again
Guest strapper Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 all out...only 200 doses availible...ive had to buy 200 other day...lucky that 2 other members shared it. they have found a hole in the market to get more money off us, they dont order too many smaller doses and when you ring up...200 is only one thats left.

abbeypap Posted May 20, 2009 Report Posted May 20, 2009 We always ordered it from our own vet but this time they were 3 to 4 weeks for delivery. Bought it from www.petmeds.co.uk free p&p as well. Arrived within 2 days, but then they did have stock at that time.
