greenlands Posted October 27, 2009 Report Share Posted October 27, 2009 Visited the Doc's this mo.on going prob with a bad head and snots.Seen a new las who gave me a good going over.Proceeded to print me a prescription out for Doxy,and a lecture on what not to do while taking it ,one of which was keep out of sun light and a def.no no,no sunlamps,while on doxy you are susceptible to sun burn.In this climate wishfull thinking.Another was make sure you take after meals or the lots likely to come back up,do not lie down within 2 hours of taking and more. Just shows you never know what your pumping into your birds,ie. side effects etc. Lindsay. hi lindsay...reason why the medication is given with meals is for it to be digested better....quite a lot of medications are taken with meals. did the doc also point out that tetracycline is the main ingredient(for the want of a better word)which has been lab proven to be the most effective medication again resp illnesses...especially against ornithosis. hope it clears up the bad head and snots with you m8 and you feel better in a day or two also there are side effects with every medication you take....look at me...since ive been married i havent had one day of rest lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
