bruno1 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 A post misread maybes led to a bit of a misunderstanding? I think its stopped the thread, so I've removed a few posts.

bruno1 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 WHAT YOU SAYING TOM,,,EVERY ONE I NO GETS IT,,HALF OF THEM SAY THEY DONT THERE LYIERS.... If I can try to restart the thread where it left off... Mark would you give us your thoughts on why some people might get YBS in their loft every year?
hotrod Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 this is whats in nifuramycin --- fufuryliden ,oxazolidon, tetracyclinhyrochlorid, dihydrostreptomycin sulfat, neomycin in sulfat, chloramphenicol, and various vitamins and it says it treats bacteria infections ,salmonela and paratyphus.

pjc Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 Prevention is better than cure! Vaccinate for PMV but more importantly allow the YB's to build a good strong natural imunity, don't clean them out until you are ready to start training them as thats were the imunity is gained from and any yb that goes off colour, don't pamper it, bin it!

pjc Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 Personaly I think its the best way Paul. Also if i put any late breds in with older youngbirds they are weaned into a basket for 10days to build up imunity before going in with others. Then anything that goes back goes.
Guest youngboy Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 i believe to much medicines are very very bad because the immune system is being attacked and when it comes for the pigeons actually being sick it wont be able to handle the sickness!! i hope i never have young bird sickness but natural live yogurt is supposed to be good for yb sickness! as yb sickness it all bacteria infections! eddie wright (RIP) used live yogurt on his birds and so as many other fanciers! so ill be using that next year

pjc Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 don't agree with the not cleanig out but each to his own jmo If you follow your youngbirds around with a scraper where will they yb's gain there imunity from?
dwh Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 If you follow your youngbirds around with a scraper where will they yb's gain there imunity from? we clean out twice a day during racing we don't chase birds round with scrapper and where does the idea not cleaning out stops ybs or creates superior immune systems viruses are airborn as well transmitted via other means ,apparently stress plays a major part in ybs does'nt it?
mark proctor Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 If you follow your youngbirds around with a scraper where will they yb's gain there imunity from? YES I THINK THATS MY PROBLEM M8,,,I SPRAY THE LOFT TWICE A WEEK WITH VIRCON S THEN JEYES,,,AFTER READING SOME OF THESE GREAT THREADS I DONT THINK IM GOING TO BE AS CLEAN ANY MORE...ITS NOT PAYING OF :o :o :B :B :B :B I JUST HATE TO SEE CRAP ON THE FLOOR THOU....
adam owen Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 i use the floor granuals they are awwsum keeps birds clean the loft dry on damp days all i do is clean boxes and perches u can see the droppings then
dwh Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 we used easi-bed last year and mega sorb this year during breeding but not racing ybs have a floor dressing 1st 5-7 days then its scrapper time just our way not saying its the right one
adam owen Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 i didnt like easy bed the droppings dnt dry out the same wats mega sorb
gulkie Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 ive had a sachet in my house for the last two years but have never had the reason to use it ,i have baytril as well because i think if i do get a problem i want to have a treatment on hand ,the quicker you get on top of something the better or faster the cure jmo where du get baytril from ? reason i ask our vet want to see sick birds before supplying us with it.
