bibendium Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Think the Guy you are talking about flew under the name Stalker & daughter, if it is he unfortunatley died a few years back.
Shortcut Lofts Posted July 16, 2009 Author Report Posted July 16, 2009 Do you know what happened with the birds?
bibendium Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Dont know m8sorry , had a few of him about 20 years ago , lovely birds but all fallen by the wayside now.
bibendium Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 you could try looking back to around 1990 squills&bhw year books as he advertised in there, might give you a lead as to where to try next, i will ask my old dad tonight as he had been down at the Stalker lofts around then and was friendly with the family, i was just a nipper then(lol) a few bad young bird seasons around then plus a change of loft location kinda put paid to the gurnays we had, looking back they never really got a good crack at it.
yorkie Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 we tried these years back, got some from a graham mussel in hereford, beatifull blacks and bronzes but never any good, my dad raced these in the sixties, surely long gone now
Welsh Gurnays Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 I have Gurnays , I have had them since the 60s and still race them to day, you do get velvets but most of the darks are bronze, you do get a lot of blues, and allso reds & mealys
Fair Play Posted July 31, 2009 Report Posted July 31, 2009 IN days past Arthur & Mary Mellor of Cheshire raced a good Gurney but don't know where their birds went maybe some of the local Cheshire fanciers would know
