Pigeon struggling to eat

Recommended Posts

I've noticed that one of my young birds is struggling to eat.  When he attempts to eat from the feeder he tilts his head right back, at first I thought he was throwing out the corn that he didn't like, but this isn't the case.  Sometimes he looses his footing entirely.

I filmed him on my mobile tonight (apologies for the quality).

Any advice greatly receieved.

Thanks

Helen

Sorry mate but would be very careful with the rest for the time being but youv'e got to fear the worst  but would certainly seek professional advice immediately on this one but can only go for paramyxo.

i dunno about knowledge  ;D...but i have explained to helen and she has taken advice and hopefully she can sort out the problem in the near future.

she has explained that the birds dont leave the loft.

also she will carry out vaccinating them (the healthy ones)

Its sound advice i have given her as theres alot of diseases in the droppings  and she will never sort them out keeping them in a mess like that

there are more diseases taken into your loft than there comes out of it! ;)

although you are partly right about droppings.......dry droppings dont do much harm compared to wet droppings.

these droppings would be dry (and not wet) to form an imunity, imunity doesnt really stop the bird having a disease..it only helps to protect it from catching one so easily...a sort of firewall.
