I wouldn't bother - its cheaper getting a vet to do it - and have a proper job done

aye and your vet can give specific treatment for infections ectra and tell you what is effective a test in itself is only half of the remedy, most swabs for microplasma need to be grown on petri dishes , vets that specialise are worth there weight in gold

It would be good if all vet's were up on avian treatment but they are not, some of these testing centres are very good, again not all :-/

That one on e-bay is an amateur trying to make some money

and if you haven't got a microscope - how are you going to know he's not pulling a fast one

That may be true but not all vets are good and not all testing stations are bad, time and feedback normally sorts them out from the rest, do you not think vets are capable of pulling fast ones as well :-/

Although reading it more in this case you may be right :(

The vets i use are used by Defra and specialist in animal health and specialise in Avian , there very welcoming and very thorough , money well spent as can pay far more treating blind with no effect by time you go to vet it could be too late , so total cost for treating then cost of pigeons on top , would never be worth less than a vet would charge . However i have heard of bad vets there the ones that usualy dont specialise in avian .

He has no feed back for testing droppings

Like I said you are probably right, if you look at his other items for sale he looks a bit suspect but you never know :-/

Totally agree, I had a huge problem 3 years ago and would always use an Avian vet, luckily I am equally between Perth and Edinburgh where they have both DEFRA and good avian vets
