billt Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 moulting mix Don't think you've a problem, you know of course that the food goes to the crop before digestion
aye ready Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 i think there just eating to fast i wouldnt worry about it they are eating too fast if you watch them they'll probably lift their heads from the hopper and you'll see them trying to swallow whats in their throat
Guest Owen Posted October 25, 2009 Report Posted October 25, 2009 The two things that come to mind are linseed which wil;l be in any moulting mixture. This seed is sticky and does cause the birds to have trouble swallowing sometimes. Canker has a similar effect. Watch to see if the birds yawn when they have not eaten for a while. Pigeons should not yawn. When they do, it can be caused by canker in the throat. Get someone to do a check with a microscope. On the other hand, have a look, you may be able to see it. It is best not to treat for canker this time of the year unless it is severe. This time of the year is a good time to allow the birds to build up an immunity to both cocci and canker.
