Do you use much wheat in your feeding or is this losing credence now as a main part of feeding ?

Don't use wheat - out of interest - I read on one of these threads that you paid £3.99 for barley Tammy_1 - only bought one bag of barley - mid season, which was £8.99 - cheaper to buy depurative - how come you got such cheap barley? Was it from a farm?

yes was from a farm locally but in the space of about 4 weeks it went up to £5 a bag, but good thing bags are not weighed , they are filled right up to the top and there is far more than 25 kilos in them

i stand corrected then my friend but do you pay £36  for a bag of cut wheat just because it is laced with selenium you must  have to much money then my friend or are you just good to your birds  yours rem/2coo

Can you buy and add the selenium yourself to feeds if thats the main thing added to hormoform ?

Just checked and it can be bought in tablet form easily.

It isn't cheap, but one of the benefits of keeping a smallish number of birds, a 5kg bag is a year's supply to me, £12 isn't bad for a whole year.

It is a feed supplement, and contents are given as : A compound of energy-yielding fats and oils, animal and vegetable protein, yeast, cod-liver oil, malt extract, amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements supported on a cut-wheat base.

Last time I used selenium was for my dandruff - Head & Shoulders. Must keep the 'bloom' down, good for PFL?  ;D

Thats a rarity - a man on here with hair  ;D

Getting bak to the hormoform - I didn't know it was wheat based - and use that, we were lucky to have won 3  large bags of it for topping the section in May - it will last us until its out of date I should think - normally buy one large bag per season (20 or 25kg) so will be OK until 2009. However our local store sells it for £29 a large bag ( not £36)
