schouwman71 Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 yes sapper ive heard of it,but you need to be unemployed or rich to do this method, and anyway who needs to keep going into the loft 4-5 times a day.sounds harder work to me and yea john crowder did feed this way, Les
Guest IB Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 There was a mention of a 'new system' on mainland Europe in a DVD, didn't say much about it other than it was feeding, and I think it was 5 times a day? Agree that you would need to be there all day every day [for sale loft with desirable bedroom toilet and kitchen ;D] What would be the difference between this 'new' system and hopper feeding which means the food is before the birds all the time so they eat little and often? I remember one of the pigeon vets saying it was healthier that the bird had a little in the crop at all times, rather than feast and famine of once or twice a day feeding.
ALF Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 I know of someone who's doos are fed a lot more than 5 times a day and he is practictly unbeatable in y/b racing and has been for years
Delboy Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Definately a method I have used for my distance candidates before, but when your doos are right , they dont eat as much. Feeding a small amount, regularly helps combat this problem.
Tony C Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 I knew a lad that practised this on his y/birds before darkness hit the scene. He would fly them out 8-10 times a day feeding a little everytime he got them in. Boy! could he fly a good young'un.
Guest chrisss Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 i saw something like this in germany in the 1980s, the only problem appears to be is that the birds at the front of the pile got all the food, and the weaker [younger?] ones got very little if any
jimmy white Posted April 20, 2008 Report Posted April 20, 2008 Sorry Sapper! SHHHHH means, Is it only used by those that don't disclose all? no,,,,not at all ;D
