I believe it was the RPRA that partly caused them to stop the service, but i'm sure there are older members that can fill us in on that one.

I have no complaints with AMTRAK , we have a good service here in fife well in my part we have a guy who cares about the birds and hisjob , even when i was ill in bed he would bring them up stairs for me tilli could get them tothe loft, certainly don,t have any qualms with them at all and dovey does not have problems either with them at least not my knowledge so i,m sorry i have to defend them , we don,t have anyone else there is (S.P.D.S. BUT THEY ONLY DELIVER SCOTLAND )

Who are S.P.D.S ? If you gave AMDeliverys there contact information surely they could work something out between them , and cover the parts the other doesn't

train repatreation was best way ever for doos {apart from transporters} cost was low  service was brilliant    anybody else remember getting doos on the train    and  want to go back to it?

I WISH I KNEW YOU WHEN YOU WERE AT SCHOOL ROSE, I USED TO GO TO MARKINCH ,LADYBANK AND KIRKCALDY STATIONS TO PICK UP THE BIRDS IT DID,NT COST THAT MUCH TO GET THEM , IN 1966 MY PAY WAS ONLY ABOUT £12 TO £13 FOR A WHOLE WEEK AND MY TIME WAS OUT , I WAS A JOURNEYMAN THEN AND I GOT MARRIED THEN AS WELL

has any one got an update on whats happening?,on one of the other sites one guy is saying that his mate went into work last night, and got sent home,my local depot is open on saturday morning ,but not today by the looks of things,talking about the good old days moving birds by tram or whatever is fine,but if amtrak have gone [for all of their many faults]then we have problems as am/roger and guys like that are way too small [no offence]

aye but a lots of small couriers could start there own networks up , and help each other out

theres been a few threads on here with fanciers offering to cover certain parts of the country and to set up a fanciers network which was either scoffed at or poorly supported it might now be the time to go cap in hand to these fanciers and do what should of been done in the first place,.....pete

Spds now have depots in Leeds and Manchester for next day deliery North. If AM could get them to the depots then SPDS could deliver North.
