pjc Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 beutyhomer and many of the fancy guys will tell you a true tiger marked bird is manufactured and not bred! It is an outlawed practice but with certain breeds if you pulled coloured feathers they would regrow white so to make a tiger marked bird alternate flights would be pulled along with cover flights to grow back white and produce a bird with stunning markings.
blackswan Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 the cardons are throwing these when crossed but they change colour! peterpau Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 There's a fancier on another site who has imported at least one and a genuine barless meally! Is it me. I have a cock with similar markings, a grizzle but he is more black and white, than grizzle. I've bred many barless mealy's and taken 2nd sec 20th MNFC with one. I aint parting with my grizzle but to be honest, the pictured bird looks a real cracker.
leighton1984 Posted November 19, 2009 Author Report Posted November 19, 2009 The colour is very nice but i like them to win races for me. Blues and cheq are very boring so i like to try some thing that not many have had a go at every one has raced the whites so i like some thing new if they win that's good but if they do not i had fun trying.

A perfectly marked tiger is very difficult to breed.Mis-marked ones can be improved by pulling coloured feathers that should be white. If they are pulled frequently they will eventually grow back white.Red feathers do this more quickly than blue. The main breeds are the Swallows.
Guest big pete Posted November 20, 2009 Report Posted November 20, 2009 if youre only after the tiger markings pair it back to a black that will improve your tigers, fancy breeders do it all the time,
