greenlands Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 George Gorley went into Buessearts. Was two that dominated the Fed here abouts with Buessearts. Think George when up North timed the 1st 18 in the Fed.... they may well have been Vandies, as though I met the man a couple of time never spoke about pigeons unfortunaely, as he was always surrounded by folks asking.... George was a big mate of mine,I visted his loft 3 or 4 times a week,If we weren't at his loft George would take us up to Eric Edwards of Keswick another fancier who had some of the best.George left Cumbria and went to live at Higham Ferrers nearer his familly. When the Cumberland Social meeting or sales were on he always called for a cuppa and usually left me the choice of a bird and the other would go in the sale.Never failed to leave something special. Lindsay.
Guest slugmonkey Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 I have 10 or so from Ben Ficther that I still race and yes they can still win - here at least

Lindsay. Yes, he had a Stud here - I was and am 8 miles from Higham Ferrers. Or at least did sell a lot of birds. I know one particular chappie that visited him a lot here abouts and did exceedinly well with them. But he was selling Bussearts then.... may have also had Vandies and other strains, I don't know. But his birds top the fed here abouts often, and at the distance too.
