IS IT BETTER TO KEEP A PAIR LOCK IN A NEST BOX WHILE REARING Y/BS OR LET THEM OUT ONCE THEY ARE ON EGGS?

ABOOT A WEEK OR UNTIL YOU SEE THEM PAIRED AND SETTLED DOWN

if they are the only birds in the section there is no need to lock them up

if there are more birds in there either lock them up till they are paired ( remember to put in a brick

so the hen can get some respite from the cock)

 

or untill the hen lays her 1st egg

Let them get on with normal duties, they'll do fine usually.
