Tommy Little bought our team of Busschaert stock birds many moons ago. The one he wanted the most was a son of Parkside Superman, and is probably the only time i've sold a bird that should been binned! The Danny Challis Busschaerts were another class for us in the short time we had them

I find it amazing that this magnificant family of birds almost seemed to dissappeared overnight as new "in" breeds appeared. Yet i know for a fact one person who was selling "in" pigeons were from his same Busschaert family from the 70's, but he could obviously charge more for the "in" ones. I wonder how many others did or are doing the same!

The Tele Savalas you speak of is the second one the first being owned and bred by Woodroffe bros Sunderland.A nest mate to Apachie he won 3 telivisions hence his name.

Quite right!! Woodroffe Bros flew some of the best Busschaerts in the North East along with the late great Billy Napper IMHO

schaerlaeckens, must be at it if hes never heard of busschaerts.  heres a advert from back cover of r.p pictorial, numb 23 volume 2 published march 1972

                                    G.BUSSCHAERT,BELGIUM

belgium master three first nationals and 25,000 pounds won 1968 to1970 alone

enquiries for direct stock in 1972 to

                                     TOM LARKINS

                                  sole uk agent

                         3,delane road,deal,kent

The vast majority never have, or rather never will recognised Busseart. Nor his records which stand so high in Belguim. But they still stand.

Also his sister---- Brother in - law was a force, indeed no slouch.

More suprising is many top flyers over there say they have never heard of Roland Jansenn... Those that have say 'So - so medioca flyer.

But please don't let this distract from a very good thread.

I have heard often Belgian fanciers alledge they have not heard of Busschaert. They are not being entirely frank, it wasnt convenient to have heard of him.To have acknowledged him would have diminished sales of there own birds. This is a funny anacdote of a jurney George set out to take 3 yb to Jules Gallas of Belgian methods 1 2 3 4 5 etc fame.George called into the bar as he was inclined to do.While supping his beer a friend says george whats in the pannier replies George 3 babies for Jules.Wow there lovely as time progressed george says to the friend take one. He then set off again to Jules after a while more beer was required so he enteres another bar.A further friend says George were you going same reply same outcome by this time George tight as a tick sets out again with the one remaining yb.George meets a friend on the street who says whats in the basket a yb please take it im going home.So if the most famouse jurnalist in Belgium has heard of him. the rest have.

It was because he bought of Delbar, when Most Belgiums wouldn't touch Maurice with a Bar Pole.

Must have heard of him as they strive to beat the records he set lol.
