dwh Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 it is a little known fact that the busschaerts were flying successfully in the NE long b4 the newton pair were introduced these were flown by BOB PARKER jimmy bamling remembers him kavnagh bros actually flew them. dr horn tried to buy them but bob would'nt part dr horn offered an open cheque asking "do you know who i am" bob was'nt impressed and kicked him off the gardens these busschaerts destroyed all competition in our area and were wanted by evryone some fly gets even went home with eggs they had'nt ASKED for so some of the first bussschaerts flying into this country were flown by bob parker but they were not george but his brother andre busschaerts pigeons
clayton moore Posted March 5, 2010 Report Posted March 5, 2010 Is this the uncle of Peter Parkin from Felling. If so you are correct however your time scale is out.Bob had the Busschaerts but it was after the Newton pair However at the same time as the Newton pigeons came.A pair of Busschaerts were sent to Conset name the Murphy pair.Peters uncle Bobby better known for his Vandies.

The great Bill Bowdon of Chopwell.Funny enough a friend of Peter Parkin Felling.

Guest Paulo Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Eddie lauder, mcharrie, pluto lines..they were the buss that Wee Mac had."The Lauder cock" was the sire of "SUPERMAC"- winner of 17X1stx, 5x1st Feds...went on to bred alot winners for many fanciers all over scotland....good lines!! Eddie Lauder hell of a flyer only man to win the Young Bird National twice in the WDA. I think Stobbs has broken that record now but I could be wrong. Still when Lauder did the feat the competion was a lot stronger than it is now.
